Your Summer List

This is a busy time of year for all of us with graduation, Memorial Day celebrations, graduations, and lots of anniversaries, so let’s get to it.

I have heard a lot of people say that one of the areas that is lacking in their life is fun.  Your assignment is go out there and have fun.  You can either keep it in the back of your mind or you can make a concerted effort.  I thought I would make it easy for you so I have a list of my Top Ten Things to do This Summer. And it’s not what you think it is.

Make sure you squeeze in as much fun as you can because it’s Back to School in September and I’m not talking about the kids.  I will be offering an eight week course beginning in mid-September and I want you to join in and be a part of it!  More details to follow.  Just block out some time for yourself from mid-September to mid-November.

Here are my Top Ten Things to do this Summer:

  1. Wear a swim dress or skirt and feel great in and out of the water!

  2. Go to the Farmer’s Market for local fresh food and other local goods.

  3. Experiment to find your favorite “spa” water.  Mine is cucumber, mint, and lime.

  4. Use affirmations to instill self worth like “I am worthy of pursuing my dreams and achieving my goals.

  5. Carve out at least 10 minutes for yourself every. day.  Exercise, meditate, or journal, for example.  Or sit and watch the world go by.  Just do nothing.  See if you like it.

  6. Try something new - whether it’s a recipe, a new game, or seek out an adventure.

  7. Start a new healthy habit and track it - Try walking after dinner or making your bed every day.  Put it down on paper and check it off every day.

  8. Celebrate every day that you take care of yourself and do a happy dance or have a mindful cup of tea,

  9. Slow down. Get a comfy lounger or hammock to relax.  Read a book or take a nap.

  10. Plant a garden or pick up some flowers.

Lastly, savor the moment.  Enjoy the good times and remember them down to every last detail. Because Summer, like happiness is fleeting. We need to enjoy appreciate it in the moment.

I hope you have a fun summer, take care of yourself, and you stock up on school supplies for yourself.  You’re going to love this course!
