The best way to make a change in your life is to name it and then create a goal to put it into motion. When you take personal responsibility for your welfare and happiness, you are personally invested which means you will follow through to achieve your goal. When you aren’t happy with an aspect (maybe more than one) of your life, it is up to you to do something about it.

Self-Care Sunday, Anyone?
Oprah was the first person I can remember who took Sunday off. She has always understood the benefits of taking a day of rest. She turns her phone off for 24 hours and she just enjoys being quiet and taking good care of herself without worrying about anyone or anything else. How would you like to begin that practice?

A Better You
The only way you are going to get better or make significant changes in your life is to be proactive, be positive, and to know that you will get out of it what you put into it. Develop that can-do attitude so you can live your life fully and feel the joy and sense of accomplishment that you deserve…Become your biggest cheerleader and know that you are amazing! We can learn a lot about what works and what doesn’t by going out there and doing our best and being open to the outcome. Things usually turn out better when we don’t attach any meaning to the outcome and we value the experience for what it is. So next time, tweak it a little, and try again. It’s not the big deal that we think it is. When you have a growth mindset you learn from your experiences in order to improve the next time.

Gratitude is a life-changing practice that you can do every day. That’s how I begin my day and it sets the tone for the day ahead. When you manage your expectations and you start to let go, you will feel better. Self-compassion and laughter will help make joy attainable as well.

Do you want to run around the yard with your grandchildren or your dog? Do you want to be able to bend down to pick flowers or collect veggies from your garden? Your mind can choose what it believes. In fact, you don’t have to believe everything you think. If you fill your mind with negative thoughts you will probably have a negative outlook, but if you want to change your thoughts, say positive affirmations repeatedly to yourself, especially in the mirror, and you will start to change your mind.

Studies show that when you stand up straight, put those shoulders back, and lift your chest up high, you are sending the message to your brain that you feel confident. Take up space by putting your arms on your hips and spreading your legs like Wonder Woman. It will build your confidence. You can change your beliefs by changing your stance.
